Increase Brand Engagement With Facebook

Many of our clients ask us if they should be using Facebook to promote their businesses. A common remark we hear is, “It seems like everyone’s using it” – and the truth is, a lot of people are. According to a recent study, there are about 1.4 billion Facebook users worldwide. With Facebook attracting such a large audience, it serves as a great opportunity to reach more consumers, learn about their interests, and the best way to communicate with them.

To get started with Facebook:

1. Create an account

In order to create a business page, you need to have an account. This account will be linked to your business page, and its user will be the administrator. The administrator has full access to make changes to all aspects of the page. You can give others permission to make edits to your page (you can assign multiple levels of access), too.

2. Select a business page type

When you navigate to Create a Page, you will be presented with a list of options with which to specify your business type. (ie. Local Business, Institution)

Selecting a page type will display a page sign up form with additional ways to classify your business.

3. Create a page

When you fill out the page sign up form, you will be able to further specify your business type. For example, if you select a Local Business page, you can choose a category to further describe it,”such as “Event Planning Services” or “Shopping/Retail.” Fill out the required information and then click the “Get Started” button.

4. Set up your page

Once you’ve created your business page, you can add additional details, like a custom web address, and a profile picture. Facebook gives you the option to skip any of these steps, but taking a few moments to complete them will make it easier for users to find your page, and improve its ranking with search engines.

Facebook makes it easy to connect with your customers online and increase brand engagement. Just pick your page type, add a few details, and presto – you’ll be on your way to social media glory!
