About Vulcan Electric

Vulcan Electric Company is a manufacturer in Porter, Maine. The company says it started making heaters in 1927 and still engineers and builds all of its heater and sensor products in the United States, in Porter. Most products are designed around a customer’s specific process or application, and the company also offers a range of standard designs. It says it can handle runs from a single unit to several hundred, with no minimum order quantity.

The product line has three main groups. Heaters include strip, finned strip, cartridge, tubular, flanged immersion, circulation and duct styles. Temperature sensors include thermocouples for semiconductor and vacuum work, ultra high temperature probes and RTD probes. Thermostats include bulb and capillary, snap disc and the Cal-Stat line. Vulcan also runs a thermocouple calibration lab that is accredited to ISO 17025 by A2LA and refurbishes thermocouples. Its qualifications page lists ISO 9001 and a number of UL listings for its heaters. The industries it names include semiconductor, aerospace, life sciences, packaging and alternative energy.
